The membership of the Association shall be open to all former students of St. George Mixed Secondary School – Oyugis Alumni, which shall be a way of introduction as far as the prospective member associate with and/or ascribes to the ideals of peace, love, and harmony. The number of the membership is not limited.
All applications for membership shall be made to the Association through the Executive Committee, whose duty it shall be to make diligent inquiry into the fitness of the applicant and, if found satisfactory, upon completion of pre-membership classes, to make recommendations to the Association. The Association, upon hearing the recommendation of the Executive Committee, shall vote upon the admission of the applicant at the next meeting.
• To bring together and unite all former and current members/students of St. George Mixed Secondary School (hereinafter referred to as “the School”) who are voluntarily willing to join and participate in the activities of the Association.
• To promote the welfare of the School, alumni, students and stakeholders;
• To take such steps by personal or written appeals, public meetings or otherwise as may from time to time be deemed expedient for the purpose of procuring contributions to the funds of the Association in the form of donations annual subscription or otherwise
• To promote creation of an a social environment in which students of diverse cultural, ethnic, racial, economic, religious, and theological backgrounds can learn and understand, respect, appreciate, and love one another.
• To promote all round sustainable development in St. George Mixed Secondary School and support learning, through integrated research, motivation and training
• To strengthen networking between students, alumni and other stakeholders so as to reinforce empowerment and build knowledge;
• To establish or assist in the establishment of classes, laboratories, educational infrastructures, and libraries, and to publish newsletters, brochures, periodicals, books and other publications as the Board of the Association may deem desirable for the promotion of the Association’s goals. Missions, visions and values;
• To enter into any arrangement with any governments or authorities that may seem conducive to the Association’s objects, and to obtain from such government or authority any rights, privileges and concessions which the Association may need to achieve any of the above objectives.
